Born in Ayrshire in 1964 and graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1986. Worked as a freelance designer and colourist for several design agencies based in the UK and in Switzerland. Pam also gained a Postgraduate Teaching Qualification and taught in schools for several years.
Pam returned to full time painting after a period of time spent abroad. Returning to the West Coast of Scotland was a turning point and Pam’s work now reflects a love of her homeland where she is inspired and uplifted by the light and colour found on the coast. Pam’s distinctive colour palette has not only been influenced by her design background but by the strong colourist tradition in Scottish Painting.Tutored by the artist John Cunningham at Glasgow School of Art in her foundation year and earlier, by the well known Scottish painter, Jim Wylie.
Known for her expressive work in pastel, Pam exhibits her coastal scenes and floral paintings in galleries throughout Scotland with many of the originals being bought for private collections both in the UK and abroad. Selected to exhibit at the Paisley Art Institute and awarded the P.A.I. Small Painting Prize in her first year of selection.
